apply for permanent residence and be sponsored for spousal sponsorship. After application, the non-citizen can stay in Canada and keep extending the visitor visa while PR application is being processed.

HELLO ALL! my name is Luis and I'm a Mexican with canadian residency and I've just applied for citizenship. My girlfriend lives in Mexico and we know each other since childhood. We want to get married and live here, Vancouver. I know all the requirements to get the 3 different kinds of visa, but I wonder if there is a way in which she can come, get married, and start de sponsorship/PR process without her being removed from Canada.... we really can't stand being apart, we've been apart for too long already.... please! anyone has a good advice or knows a practical, short way to help me reunite with my love??

Thank you
PEACE

Hello!

I'm from Philippines, I have a boyfriend there in Canada and we plan to get married there. There is no such fiancee visa so we plan that I get visitor's visa with his letter of invitation and we'll get married there. We are 5 years in relationship and my question is:

-If I'll be interviewed at Canadian embassy, should I say that the purpose of my visit is to get married there?

I also don't have that big money in the bank and property documents though which is one of the requirements to get a visitor's visa approve.  All I want is to be with my boyfriend and get married there.

Does anyone know if there's any problems with getting married while we're there? We're coming back Oct 10. and are also having a wedding in Taiwan in Nov.

I heard at Customs they will ask if you are planning on getting married, and if you say yes you'll have to interview to try and prove that your plan to get married isn't a scam to bring someone into the country.

Hello,

I am in a similar situation. I learned that there is no such a requirement in BC to get married with a foreigner. Did you successfully get married with your wife in Canada with no problem? Did you need any paper on her marriage status to file with your spousal sponsorship to Canada?

Please help me with the information and experiences you had gone through. Thank you very much.
