Getting Married to a Canuck Abroad

Okay, here's the situation.

I am marrying a Canadian citizen who is in the United States on a TN Visa. He is going to renew his TN in April, a month before the wedding, so that he can work here while we apply for his green card.

First of all, does he lose his right to Canadian health insurance once he establishes permanent residence in the United States?

And secondly, how does he apply for a renewal Canadian passport while in the US on his TN?

Yes, he loses access to Canadian healthcare when he applies for permanent residence somewhere else.

It can take between 2-3months to get a new passport so plan accordingly. He will not be able to leave the country, etc.
