Going for a new TN at border - recently had a baby in US

Post Fri May 28, 2010 8:30 pm

I have been in the US on TN for a few years now. I am not trying to immigrate here. Last year, I fathered a child in the US. I am not with the child's mother, but I do provide financial support for the child and see the child 1 weekend a month and for a week in the summer. I brought the child home with me to Canada for a week in May to spend time with his grandparents.

I am going to be going to the border for a new TN in August (switching employers) and I am wondering if the fact that I had a child in the US will prevent me from obtaining a new TN. I am no longer with the child's mother and have absolutely no intention of immigrating to the US.

Please advise.

Thank you.
