Hey Everyone!

I am planning on traveling within the next few months or so. I would love to visit South East Asia, Europe, New Zealand, etc.. Honestly, I'm gonna go for as long and as far as I can without too much planning ahead of time. (Been told it's a good way to do it) - I NEED ADVICE!

If anyone has any advice or ideas or thoughts or ANYTHING that could be of any value to me at all, PLEASE let me know! It's all so overwhelming and I don't quite know how to take all the info in! How expensive do you find it to be? Visas ahead of time or at arrival? Things to take? Things not to take? Crime? Travel? Accomodations? AHHH!!!! haha - thanks!

First on your list should be a look into youth hostels -- they are by far the cheapest way to go. I think there is an organization that one can join and it gives you "access" to info on world-wide hostels. I know that you want to have a loose schedule but do bear in mind that having a safety net is always a good idea.

VISA's - I think you'd be better off obtaining your necessary visa's before you leave. When I wanted to visit the Czech Republic a few years ago it took FOREVER to get my visa because of the limited English that was spoken. Had I gotten before I arrived in the country then I am SURE that I'd have spent less time and paperwork and stress.

Good luck on your adventure! If you wander into Austria (I live in Vienna), let me know! Always glad to see another Canuck on this side of the ocean! I can provide some tips and hints of what to see and what is just tourist-trappings and not worth the visit.
