It's a miracle, after being turned down at Terminal 3 (Pearson) 2 weeks ago, I went back with a reworded application and some additional documentation and got a 3 year TN fairly smoothly in Terminal 1.
The process was interesting, I had to wait about an hour & 40 minutes, but the Customs Officer had already reviewed everything by the time she called me up for my interview. She asked me to explain what I was going to be doing. Then asked if it was for sure going to take 3 years, since I'm going in as a Management Consultant.
Truthfully, I'm working on a fairly extensive project and when I explained it to her she was satisfied, but she said that she had a lot of applications where people were using whiteout to change the duration from 1 year to 3 and that they weren't going to give out 3 year visas if the project only took 6 months.
After that she sent me to pay the fee and that was that. Shockingly easy this time.
