Got my TN Visa approved at EIA! Happy New Years

Post Fri Jan 02, 2009 7:01 am

Just wanted to share my experience with my TN Visa approval at the Edmonton International Airport.
After months of researching and sweating bullets I got to the EIA about 4-5 hours prior to my flight anticipating long lines on this holiday season. Got to the airport around 10 and my flight was at 2:54 and the airport was DEAD, no lines...nothing. Filled out my customs card and proceeded to the customs booth where I was greeted my kind man and let him know I wanted to apply for a TN Visa. He gathered my documents and took me to the dreaded back room! He told me to wait in the waiting room where he then took my paperwork to another officer. I waited patiently and so nervous, my mouth was drying up. The officer took about 5 mins to review my documents and called me to his workstation thereafter. I told him i messed up filling out the I-94 card cause I filled in the information in the wrong spots. He told me it was okay and that everybody does it. He asked me where I was staying to live so that he can fill it in. And i told him I had no physical address as of yet and he said that the next time I fly through to give them the updated information. Right then and there I was like wtf?..Am i approved, since he told me to update him with information the next time :)..lol.. Anyways he continued on filling out what he needed to fill out and practically never asked me a thing. I was APPROVED within 15 minutes! I left after the approval and reached into my pocket and still had my $100 US cash. Being the nice guy I am I went back and told the guy he forgot to charge me the fee. He was happy i came back but he didn't have change for $100. I was like "keep the change" LOL. He says "no, no" I should have change. Anyways that's my story. My TN process went smoother than I had anticipated, after months of being nervous.

Happy new years folks!
