Green Card Renewal - US

Hi,

My Green Card will expire in just over 6 months. I understand that I can apply for renewal within 6 months of the expiry date but I expect to be away and therefore would like to sort out the renewal ahead of time.

Can I apply for renewal ahead of the 6 months (the difference is about 10 days)? Has anyone had experience with this?

Nick, you can make an appointment with InfoPass and get a temporary stamp in your passport to show that you are a green card holder and that you are still waiting for a new card.
