Originally from Toronto, I've been living in the LA area for a few yrs now. Things I miss about home: Vachon Half Moon Cakes, Jo Luis cakes (sp?), Lick's Burgers, rhoti, street hot dogs.

Things I don't miss: snow, ice, freezing rain, hail, mosquitos, Holt Renfrew, Yorkville.

Plus I miss Poutine, and Hockey Night in Canada.

There used to be a company in SoCal that imported Canadian food (Tim Hortons Coffee, St. Huberts Poutine sauce) but they don't seem to exist anymore.

I miss wine gums, eat more's, and real twizzlers. Tim Horton's too.

Here is an online store where you can buy canadian products like Frye's Cocoa, Tim Horton coffee and all the candy I said above. (I haven't used it yet--someone just told me about it)

I hope it's OK, but thought I would add that I am the owner of an online company selling Canadian chocolate bars online... http://www.expatriate.ca

At the moment we are only selling chocolate bars, but are always adding new products, and will definitely try to add new products that people miss most from home...

Sincerely,

Anyone missing any food or sweets from Canada should be sure to check out www.canadiansweets.com which shares a link with this website, to provide Canadians away from home the staple Canuck foods they're missing. We have over 150 products to choose from. Smarties, Coffee Crisp, cookies, ketchup chips and many more items that have been recently launched while you've been away. Check it out. The link is also posted within the links section of this site.
