I have been offered a marketing position in Los Angeles and Im soooo confused about this whole visa process. The company that I am potentially going to work for has suggested an H1-B visa. However, here is my problem and is there any way around it? Help!

I do not have a university degree. I have taken many courses towards a degree but slightly missed getting my GPA high enough to graduate with a degree. Instead, I graduated with a professional business certificate which required a lower GPA. I have 2+ years of relevant work experience in the marketing field. Would I still qualify for an H1-B Visa?

What are my other options? I have ruled-out the H2-B because it is only good for less than a year.

Help! Help! Anyone who knows!

Thanks

You don't qualify for H-1B or TN-1 status. You can substitute work experience for missing Bachelor's degree years, its a 3 to 1 (3:1) ratio. So if you completed 3 years of a 4 year U.S. Bachelor's program, you could substitute the missing year with 3 years of relevant work experience. The substitution rule does not apply to TNs. The company can always sponsor you for a permanent resident status.
