H1B for Canadian

Postby kachin » Thu Aug 06, 2009 9:57 pm

I am a Canadian citizen. I was granted my first H1B for October 2009.

1) When is the earliest date that I can cross the border? I read somewhere 10 days.

2) How exactly do I cross the border since visa interview is not required for Canadians.
- do I need a passport photo?
- do I need to pay $131 at Scotia Bank?
- do I need to fill out DS-160?

3) I'm thinking of taking one way Uhaul truck for the move. What forms do I need for customs and border?

4) My personal car is bought in US. I imported to Canada when I moved here. I need to take it to US again. How do I do that? forms?

If you can explain in detail, that would be wonderful.
Thank you for the help.

Yes, ten days, it's in the CFR.

You need your passport or NEXUS card and the approved I-129 and/or I-797.

Comprehensive packing list. Technically you should have owned everything for at least a year but they seem fairly laid back about enforcing that.
