We went to a couple of places beforehand and got to the Maple Leaf at 10:30ish. There was a sign on the door to say that the toilets were out of order but we decided to go for it anyways. There was hardly a soul in the place and the few that were there were not in costume. There was absolutely no evidence that there had been any kind of Halloween celebration, other than the fact that the staff were in costume. We bought a round of shots, plus a round of drinks which we had time to consume about 1/3 of before the bouncer started pushing us towards the door at 11:10!
Just wondering if the whole evening was equally lame, or if it was a happening event before the unfortunate demise of the toilets? If you were there and actually saw some evidence of the "big night" that the staff told me they had planned, please let me know so I can be less disappointed!
I've got to say, every time I've been to the Maple Leaf I've had a dire time - and now that Sleeman's can be found elsewhere, I'm finding it hard to think of a reason why I should go to this pub again. It's such a shame as it could be a really great place
