Health Insurance for Canadian Retiree

Post Mon May 11, 2009 7:41 am

I intend to retire to France in two years. Have checked with Cdn. tax folk and apparently all my Canadian pensions will be taxed in Canada and I won't be double taxed by France as there is some sort of tax agreement. Is this true? Are there additional taxes I'll face in France? I will be 65 when I move - will I have to take out private health insurance coverage? If so what kind of money am I looking at? Any recommendations on insurance companies? Any help greatly appreciated. christine

Hello,
Did you ever find out about the health coverage for Canadian citizens in France??
I would be interested in knowing what to do too.
Thanks.
