Health insurance while travelling

Post Tue Jul 15, 2008 5:53 am

Travelling to NC with a TN visa but my US employer's health insurance doesn't start for 3 months. My Canadian plan is void once I cross the border because I hold a TN visa. Anyone have any ideas of how to cover myself and my family in the meantime? I'm looking to "Visit USA HealthCare" but is there a better option?

Regular travellers insurance should cover you for emergencies. Like Blue Cross, CAA stuff like that.

Yeah just go to any travel agent and get trip insurance for the time needed, we had to do that until our blue cross kicked in. Ours ended up being through RBC (Royal Bank), but we had to get it at a travel agency. It isn't even all that expenseive, for 2+baby it was $1,000 for a year
