HELP! Shocked I need a job in southern Connecticut. Confused I'm currently living in Norwalk CT and will get the boot across the border if I don't find an American employer. I don't have a degree and need to be employed as a management consultant. Does anyone have any ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated. Razz
If you are in the US currently as a visitor, and you are not eligible for a TN (ie: do not have a degree, or job experience listed as eligible for TN) then you really don't have many (legal job) options.
As a Canadian visiting the US, you can stay for up to 6 monhts per trip, or per calendar year, whichever comes first. After the 6 months are up, you must return to Canada, for at least that long again. Meaning of course, you can't just go back to Canada for a couple of days, sleep on your parents couch, and then try to come back to the US for another 6 months. That's not how it works.
If you are not eligible for a TN or other NAFTA type visa, and not eligible for a spouse visa, then there are not many options open to you unfortunately. Except maybe have your partner immigrate to Canada.
