HELP, lived in UK over 35 years on my Canadian Passport.

Post Fri Nov 07, 2008 7:22 am

Hi
Can someone help me?
I have lived in the UK over 35 years and I have retained my Canadian passport with Indifinate Leave to Remain. I have always worked and have my National Insurance Number.

In the current economic climate I have been made redundant and have been told I may have problems and need a work permit or something. Can anyone help?

Thanks

You do not need a work permit, your ILR is proof that you can live and work in the UK.

Why don't you get your citizenship, and an EU passport? As an out of work pilot, its the first thing I'd do, as many airlines require this. Then there's the rest of the European market you'd be elligible for. You must have a real good reason not to do this.
