Help: offer title is Sr. Software Engineer

Post Sat Jul 16, 2011 8:30 pm

Hi,

I got the offer as Software Engineer,Which category should I use: "Computer Systems Analyst" or "Engineer"?

My degree is Computer Science. I don't have an Engineer degreen.

The company's lawyer said I can file under the category of System Analyst. I am not sure whether they are right or not since the title has "Engineer" in it.

I am really confused, any help or information is appreciated.

Thanks alot.
Dave

Your TN letter should state CSA category. The job title is not important, as long as your duties are that of a CSA.

There is no specific degree requirement for TN visas. It simply needs to be related to the functions performed by a CSA or engineer.

Use the Occupational Outlook Handbook to determine your title. A well-written TN letter will often suffice to convince them that you are apt to the task and fit the description.

If you'd like us to verify your eligibility, contact us and send us a copy of your resume along with the description of your job offer. This assessment is completely free of charge and will greatly help you with your TN application.

The degree should be in a closely-related field.
