can you come back with a visa if you have over stayed?

speaking to a CBP officer they said you can come back and forth as long as its not 6 months and then go back for one day then 6 more months.like u can do 3 months go to canada for like 4 and come back for 4 like that.and its 6 months per calendar year.so if you came in june u can stay till december leave and stay from jan till june.but dats it u'll have to wait a whole year to re-enter.

the reason i know that u can probably stay for like 7 or 8 months, is because alot of people do it without knowing. even i do . but i have alot of ties to canada and have no reason in immigrating here, i just visit.

You can do it only until the US catches up with you, and once they do, you may well be barred from re-entry.

Especially when they start with the passport requirements and all our movements in and out of the country will be recorded by computer, which starts next year.
