Oppss...I think this post of mine belongs to this topic folder. Apologize for re-posting this:
Hello!
Just joined this forum and would like to seek some help to clarify some issues I have on my fiancée’s visa. I’m a naturalized Canadian citizen and working here in the US under TN visa for 5 years now. I have severed my Canadian residential ties last year and moved here in the US, for tax purposes. I plan to marry my fiancée from my home country, and apply for TD visa for her to be able to live with me here in the US.
My questions are:
1. Can she apply for a Canadian passport (since she’s married to a Canadian citizen) before applying for TD visa? So that she can have her point of entry in Canada, then apply TD visa at the border? Is this scenario faster for her to get a visa than using her home country passport?
2. She’s on vacation now and soon will be back to her work overseas (Middle East country). One of our options is to have our wedding there and have the TD visa papers process over there. Are there any complications in doing this? Does this speed up the process since US embassy there is not that ‘busy’ with visa applications compare with their embassy back home?
3. Is there any possibility that the processing be delayed for a long period of time, or much worst denied?
4. I’m divorced (obtained a court order from a Canadian court), and she’s a single mom. Does this make any complications on her visa application? What are the chances of bringing also her son here in the US on TD visa also?
Thank you. Any advice I can have would be most appreciated.
