help please

i hope someone on this forum can help me out as im super confused....

so here goes...i applied for my uk settlement(spousal) visa on September 10, 09 and i got my biometric done at Toronto VAC on monday September 14, 09.

now as far as my understanding goes ...after you have done ur biometric ur application is sent to ottawa the next working day which in my case would be Tuesday, September 15,09....then after they receive ur application in ottawa , the British High Commission in Ottawa emails you back saying that they have received your application....

its been two days and i still havent received any email from them...is this normal...has anyone gone through the same experience???

also, if someone has applied just recently for their uk settlement (spousal visa) how long did it take approximately??
