Help regarding a move to the US

Hi there. Thanks in advance for all who respond! I am currently employed in a professional position here in Canada. As the story goes, I met a man from the US and would like to move there to be with him. However, I don't want to immigrate on a Fiancee Visa, as I would like to establish my own life (just being smart! lol). So, what are my options? I do not have a Bachelor's Degree in business, however, I have been employed in my field for 8 years, and have a nationally recognized (in Canada) professional designation in my field and a Business Certificate from a Canadian College. Do I qualify under any type of Visa from the US? Also, do I have to have a job first, then apply for the Visa? Or, apply for the Visa, then try to find a job? I am so confused.thanks for your help!
