Help: TN Deniel at Pearson airport-Staffing Company

Today, I was denied TN at Pearson airport because I was hired by a staffing company. The letter mentioned, since the company is a staffing company, TN could not be adjudicated.

I was advised to bring letter/supporting document from the client company, the company who wishes to actually render my services.

My question is what should be the content of this supporting document/letter? I forgot to ask this important question to them.

Any body has gone through this process? Can you please share your experiences with me.

They shoul have grnted the TN, but CBP is having problems with staffing firms becuase of benching. So they are asking you to have the client sponsor you, which is fine.

What it also means is that you will have to get a new TN each time your firm moves you to a new company (which is a nuisance).

The letter should state waht you will be doing for the client. Beware that some clients don't want to be bothered, so your fitrm may have to insit that border gives you a TN thru their sponsorship, at which point I would have a lawyer go to a border POE to do this with you.

Thanks for your reply. yes, you right - the staffing company contacted the client company. And the client company decline to give any letter. Since CBP wants letter form the client company and the client company dose not want to give it, then how lawyer can help me. For your information - staffing and client, both are big and famous companies. Does it help?

When you say "the CBP", rememer that you are talking about one single, surly, moody and mostly blue-collar civil servant.

As I said, a TN thru your staffing firm is completely legal. Going to the border witha lawyer will help evn the most ignorant CBP to see the light.

I got my TN1 at Peace Bridge, Fort Erie, ON, Canada. The immigration officer was very good.

Pearson should have issued the TN as Staffing Companies are perfectly legitimate under NAFTA.

This has been a common occurrence of many TNer's encountering petition approval problems at Toronto only to be well received and processed at Buffalo/Fort Erie.
