I won't be much help here, I just want to voice my concern as well. My partner filled out the same online application for the 'unmarried partner visa'.

I think this is a standard form.

It asked if you are married, which you can say no, but then it asks when the wedding date was, and you can't leave that blank. What do you do?

This online application is a hassle.

Yeah we got to the sponsor part and then contemplated using his (dead) grandparent that is the reason for him being able to apply for UK ancestry as the sponsor.but of course if you fill it out wrong it just causes even MORE hassle.

Not sure if this is the right answer as I haven't filled out my form yet, but I found out from one of the other post-ers that you can fill out a sponsorship form to show proof of a place to stay. So maybe it's asking for a contact of where you will be staying? Again, not sure if this is right.but since I will be living with my boyfriend, that is what I would put in that box.

Nope - sponsorship is an entirely different visa Razz Which is why that stupid thing should let us leave blank fields >_<

I really don't understand the online application. I spent hours trying to find out what Visa form I needed to fill out, VAF4 I think it was. To then find out, that I have to apply online, and you don't get an option which Visa.

I understand that having one general form COULD avoid any confusion, except it doesn't. It causes more headaches, because like Calster said, it won't let you proceed to the next page without filling in all the blanks.

For those that have filled out their online application, how did you answer the questions that didn't pertain to your visa?

For any information that is required to be filled in that doesn't pertain to your specific situation you should fill it in incorrectly. Then, at the end of the application, there is a section that asks you if you want to add anything further. You then say 'yes' and fill in the corrected information as it applies to you. I read this somewhere else on this forum to someone with a similar problem. I've just filled in my Settlement Visa and this was an option at the end of mine. It makes sense because not everyone will have the exact same answers to their generic questions.

I hope this helps!
