Help

Post Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:45 am

I"m a Canadian who overstayed my visit in the U.S. I'm leaving seattle to vancouver via amtrak. When I entered I came in on my birth certificate and they just flagged me through. but I'm returning home with my passport as I forgot it on my way to the U.S. Will I have trouble at the train station.

Why would Canada give you a problem for going home? :?

Canada does not require a passport to enter the country. If you are flying from an international airport into Canada then Transport Canada requires a Passport to board the plane. If you are going by land there will be no problem.

Nothing will happen. Canada doesn't care if you overstayed in the US. Only the US will care.

The US will know you have overstayed IF you try to go back anytime soon.

Canada doesn't care.
