Help! Working holiday visa application

Hi Everyone!

First I'd like to say that it's so nice from people on this forum to take the time to help others in need by sharing their own experience.

In my case, after sending my application by internet for a Working Holiday Visa, I'm going personally to Ottawa to bring my papers.

Fisrt, I have an amount of money which is a one-off deposit in my bank account since one month only cause I sold my personnal belongings. Do you think immigration will believe the money is not mine?

Second thing, my friend there in London will write a letter stating that I'll be staying at his place until I can go on my own but I'm afraid they think he's my boyfriend, which is not the case, and they'll believe I'll go there and won't come back to Canada?!

I know that if they refuse my application, it will be difficult for me to make another application cause they keep everything in their records.

I'm realy not confident in doing this application just in case they'll refuse cause I'm really looking forward for this new adventure!

Would somebody help me please?! :(

Whoa.No need to stress.
I too, deposited a large amount of money into my account just before submitting my application and stated I was staying with a relative. (Granted that was over 2 years ago and the rules have changed) However, I believe you only need to provide the address + contact details of your friend. Is a personal letter really required?
I doubt their gonna be suspicious and automatically assume your planning to elope.

If you possess the resources to sustain your stay in the UK and qualify within the age limit for this particular visa, they really have no reason to refuse you. I have known many many Canadians who have applied for a workingholidaymaker.
No one has been refused.
No complications.

I put a 4000 dollar cheque from my grandfather is my account and applied as soon as it was on my next statement. I had no problems either with the application process. They don't return your bank statements however. I've been over here for 3 weeks so far on my WHV and am having a blast. Just got a job at Harrod's! The only thing I have left is to set up a bank account.

Hi Deus! Hi Mel! Thanks for your help! I'm a lot less stressed than before signing on this forum. Lucky you, Mel, for the job at Harrod's, I was planning on working there too, it's such a 'posh' place, like the british say. I'm going to Ottawa soon to bring my application, I'll let you know what happened :P

Please, Mel, would you let me know if you had to send your grandfather's bank statements too showing the origins of the money you had or they needed only yours?
