Hello!

I feel I've fallen in the immigration gap.
Why does it seem impossible to find information about certain subjects! ARRRGGhhhh! Pleaseeee.let me talk to another human being and not those 'polite robot voices on the phone.!
I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who can't find answers.

This is my situation, maybe someone will have the answers.

I'm a Canadian that has been living in the U.K. with a permanent residency for 6 years.I'm thinking of going to Canada for a while to see if i want to move back.(i feel lonely without family here sometimes)or if i want to continue living here in the U.K.
(Although the cost of life is ridiculous! I mean have you seen the price of those tiny houses!?)

My questions are 1) How long can i go back to Canada for? 2) Can i work? I'm still a Canadian citizen after all.
3)If i can work do i have to apply for a work visa?

So that's it. My 3 little questions no immigration site or robot voice has been able to answer!

I'm not giving up yet though!
Does someone who this information?

If you are a Canadian citizen, there is nothing you need to do with Canadian immigration in order to move back. You don't need a work permit, you don't need a visa. You're Canadian.

You might however want to check with Uk immigration to find out how long you can stay out of the UK without losing your status there.

Hi!
Smile
I'm posting the answer i found!
Maybe someone else in the U.K. would benefit.

A Canadian citizen with Indefinite leave to remain in the U.K can go to Canada for a maximum of 2 years to live and work. If they wish to come back to the U.K. after 2 years they would need to re-apply.

That's what i was told by the Immigration and nationality directorate in London.
The number is 0870 606 7766.
