Highly skilled migrant programme

Post Thu Jun 08, 2006 6:08 am

Hello,

I am applying for the HSMP soon and I need some answers.

1-Is it recommend to apply for the HSMP through
a work permit agency? I had one quote me £900 for their fees.

2-Do I apply after my working holiday expires or well before that date.

3-what types of evidence/proof do the UK Home Office require for income and past work experience? Please be specific.

Hi Adubea,

A couple of my co-workers are applying for the HSMP visa. They were quoted £900 for the process as well, so it sounds like thats on track (and holy cow is that expensive!)

They are both nearing the end of their working holiday visa and may not have the HSMP before it expires, meaning they will have to quit their current jobs unless their emplyer is willing to hang on to the positions for them and allow them to take unpaid leave until they get their visa. I'd say, apply as soon as possible.

I have no idea for the third part of your question.

Good luck!

What's your highly skilled skill, out of curiousity?

No need to pay mate. I did the entire HSMP application by myself, free of charge. Just the processing fees through the HSMP folks in Sheffield.

Just spend a bit of time reading the immigration laws and rules, and you'll be fine. No point paying someone else to do it.

By the way, the Home Office has just changed a bulk of the HSMP rules, not sure what effect this will have (I got my 4 year extension under HSMP before the new rules took force).

Drop me a line if you have any further questions, I would be more than happy to help you out.
