Anybody know of a place in Southern California where ex-pat Canadians hang out?

Can you give me a link to forums for Canadians in California?

I know what you mean, I am thousands of miles from Canada and I miss it a lot, fortunatly I am being repatriated in September after about 11 years. If you miss Canada, here are some Canadian links:

www.globeandmail.ca/national- a good place for Canadian news. Every main paper, the Globe, the Star and Post have their own websites.

www.airfarce.ca Royal Canadian Air Farce site-you can get the latest episodes and view some classic ones.

I feel theese are good because its a good way to keep up with Canadian society.

As for Coronation street and Hockey Night in Canada, talk to your TV or cable company, they must know.

Unfortunately, I am in the same boat in socal. There doesn't appear to be any socializing for canucks around here!!!!? I contacted the consulate in LA regarding events- having been invited to other countries' consulate events up in Vancouver, and was told "we don't do that." Under the pretext of business, it would be a good idea for the consulate! Annoying.

There is a yahoo group called CaliforniaCanadians that chat, get together and post events. Hope this helps. They're all really nice and helpful. I'm still up in Canada, trying to find a job and move to San Diego where my boyfriend lives.

hard to believe that with all those Canadian entertainers in Hollywood there's not any Canadian get togethers!

I read somewhere years ago that Margot Kidder used to have a party for ex-pats on Canada day, but I think she stopped doing that when she had her breakdown

You could start something up yourself! Just write to all those misplaced Canucks in Hollywood and ask whose willing to host it
