I'm from Montreal and obviously a fan of the hockey team with the most stanley cups ever.

Hi Sleepyhead - do you guys have real names? lol. If it make you feel better, when I'm not cheering for the Sens (whooping the Leafs with scores like 7-1 - last season was good eh?), the Leafs have my support.
So how long have you been in London? Like it much? Might head there overnight next week to see a show. Even though it's only an hour on the train, I don't tend to get down there very often anymore.
And yes, Ottawa's a great city. Very clean. Bit conservative though. Trying to decide if I should move back there for a bit (to be near my sister), or go straight to Halifax area (where I want to settle).
Later.

Hi Deus - Will those trophies comfort you forever, or are the Habs going to put in any effort to get some more? Haha.

London meetup for games

Post Sat Aug 26, 2006 3:41 am

Hi been following the thread and since hockey season is coming up I wondered if anyone that has the NASN is in a nice enough pad they wouldn't mind throwing game night socials.

I don't know about you guys, but I really miss hanging with my mates on a weekend/week night having some beers and cheering on our teams. Trash talk flows like water on a mexican street, straight into the gutter.

Aaah the good old days. Hmmm :)

Anyway its 'cheeky' but it would be a nice as well it would be nice to see and meet more Canucks.

Cheers,
Roger (real name) ;)

Go Habs go! *^5 Deus* ok ok. I'm an invader, I'm a chick but I loved watching the Montreal Canadians play in the NHL finals and I am seriously craving some play off action (minds out of gutter!) again. My partner's gotten me into his Football now but god damn, I would love some payback and force him to watch some NHL hockey to return the favour. oh well, if it comes on Freeview in the near future, someone let me know! :D

Not many Canadians seem to be around North West England where I am, and since I've no driving license or car makes it difficult to meet up. Decided to do an internet search for fellow Canadians today and found this site, real cool! Thank god for small favours hehehe ;)

Hi Angelkiri & All. Just thought I'd say - along your "I love KD" lines - that I was in London on Thursday and had to go into Covent Garden to the Canadian (etc) store to get some Reeces Pieces, Ketchup Chips, & A&W Root Beer! Very chuffed! And, am also, very happy coz I can now move home! Be home within two months. Yeh!

Ooooh lynphotos you found Reeses Peices? Best I've found are extroadinarily over priced Reeses Peanut Butter cups in the fridge section (after the checkouts) at Asda. looooove the peanut butter style "smarties" Reeses does Mmmm mmmm

Your on your way back to Canada hey? Lucky you, how long you been in the UK for & whats your overall feeling of the experience here (if you dont mind me prying) and where abouts in Canada you gonna settle down in?

We're going back in October for a visit with my family in Canada (Bro is getting married) and I can't wait! Just a bit up in the air about the hand luggage thing & duty free shopping. we're used to buying perfumes, smokes & booze from Duty Free shops when travelling but with all the new restrictions, dont even know if we're allowed any hand luggage at all let alone duty free! Be a shame tho :(

Anyway, best og luck to you lyn for a safe & happy flight home, have some KD for us all :D ;)

Hi Kiri. I've been here for 4 years (way too long!). I've enjoyed myself overall, I guess. I moved here to be with my partner, but we recently split up (we were together 6 years). So now, I'm ready to move home! How long do you plan to stay? I realised early on with all the intolerance/racism and random violence, that I wouldn't want to stay here long, and especially not want to raise kids here. So I want to go back to Canada to get settled, and I suppose, find myself a nice, hunky, Canadian man! Take care. x

P.S. If you're willing to pay up to quadruple the cost of your fav things from home, go to: www.canadashop.uk.com

Deus: too cool I am too Manchester - Montreal 10th October :D
Are you going back to visit friends & family or to stay?

Lyn: Thats a shame that the relationship ended but atleast you know what direction you want now. I'm here on an Ancestry visa, so in 2007/2008 I'll have to decide if I want to apply for another visa or if I'm going to haul butt back to Canada.

Like you Lyn, I moved here to be with my fella, so don't know what will happen in a couple of years time. would love it to be all good & this be "The One", but I don't put any expectations on relationships anymore, just sets us up for disapointments ;)

Thanks for the link to the Canada Shop, had one for MissYouCanada.ca too so going to compare and see which ones come out best priced for my KD hee hee hee! ;) :D

Best of luck to you for a smooth move back Lyn :)
