How do I find work on TN Visa?

Hi, Im American and my boyfriend is Canadian. We are currently trying to find a way for him to legally work in the United States for one year (after which time he is enrolling in school).

Can anyone tell me of any useful websites where there are US employers that sponsor Canadians on TN visas? He has a bachelors in Political Science and has some experience in teaching so I am not sure what category/type of job he may be qualified for. Also, is it really true that you can get the TN visa at the airport as soon as you get the job and a letter from an employer?

If anyone else has ideas on how he can find a job in the US (not through a TN) then I'd be grateful for that as well.

My experience, as a social worker, was that I could work for any company as long as they were willing to wait for me to get my visa and are ok with the fact that the visa is only one year long, although it can be renewed.

Over the 5 years I had my TN visa, I got the same evil officer 3 times and she turned me down each time for no legtimate reason. I went back another day and got another officer and got the visa each time).

I don't know if things have changed, but all I needed was an offer of employment and that employer was aware of TN related issues (1 year, renewable) and that it wasnt a prob for them. I also need to be licensed as a social worker. Check the list for other requirements you might need.

The cost of the TN Visa when applying at the border is currently $50 USD and $6 for the I-94.

For future reference, prices for the renewal of a TN Visa via mail will be increasing substantially as of Jul 31/07.
