How do You Select a Great B&B?

Ask what they served for breakfast this morning. Was it buffet or sit down? Can you walk to shops? Do they use hotel quality mattresses? Does the innkeeper live on the premises?

establish if their are private washrooms or not. There may be a sink in the room but the toilet is shared with a number of other rooms. Is a full breakfast included in the price. What is the per person rate. Is there a different, lower rate if you choose to not have the breakfast. I always always always choose not to include the breakfast because I love to explore and to breakfast with the locals at a cafe or restaurant with bottomless cups of coffee and waffles served piping hot.
