How long can I stay in the US? Already been here few months

Hi,

I am born and raised in Canada.

I went to Florida from December 3rd to January 19th. That was for vacation only. My first trip there.

I went back to Canada for 1 month.

Then on February 25th I moved to California to do an unpaid internship. The internship lasts until end of August or so.

I probably will want to continue with the internship after August somewhere else in the US or maybe in some other part of the world but I might have to come back to the US at some point or another for a few days.

I haven't got any kind of visa.

What should I do?

Should I get a visa?

How long more can I stay here?

You needed a visa for your internship.

You are in US illegally. You and the firm are breaking the law. Seriously.

What did you tell the border officer when you went for this job?

You needed an H3 or j1 visa.
