Hello,

I am moving back to Canada (toronto) from the states after 17 years, bought a car last week and used my canadian address so I can start the paper work and save some money. Does anyone know how long I can keep the car in the states and how much time I have to drive it up ?

You have to have it for six months outside of Canada to avoid duty and GST/PST. You can avoid the duty if the car was manufactured in North America as it will be covered under NAFTA.

Have a read of CBSA Form B4. Also have a look at www.riv.ca
