How long do I have to stay in Can to re-enter U.S?

I left Canada Sept. 2008 for europe. I left europe and came to the U.S. Feb. 2009. I am currently in the U.S. and planning to return to Canada in June, this makes my stay in the U.S at 4 1/2 months. I have been traveling with my boyfriend who is American. I want to stay for 2 weeks in Canada in June and return to the states at the end of June. Will I have a problem re-entering the U.S?

He works overseas, so I would like to return with him overseas in Sept.2009 and we will return to the U.S. in April 2010. Can I fly with him overseas from the U.S? Or will the Canadian border think that I've been living in the U.S. the whole time I'm staying overseas? I own property in Canada, so I have ties there, but I don't have a job because my bf is supporting me. I do have funds in a bank account to show that I can support myself. Will I have an issue leaving Canada and re-entering Canada during the summers that I visit?

Canada doesn't care where you're going, or who you're with, it's the US that may give you difficuties when you try to re-enter in June.

Sorry I meant to say will I have problems re entering the states? I have been in the states for 4 1/2 months so I didn't over stay. I know they will only allow a Canadian to stay in the states for 6 months in a calendar yr. Is there anything I can do to extend my stay this summer when I try to re enter the states in July? I would like to stay from July -end of Sept.

not really. You apparently do not have ties (no job, which is primary really) to Canada really, if you're able to not have a job and just travel around the world with your boyfriend. They may let you in, they may not. It depends who you ask whether the 6 months is per calendar year, or if it starts over again if you leave. Each CBP officer interprets it differently unfortunately.

Can't hurt to try I suppose. But if they deny you entry, based on no ties to Canada or elsewhere, you will be sent to secondary upon every subsequent visit. No matter how long it is between visits.
