How many TN visa renewals can 1 person make with the same employer? or in general?

Could you work on a TN visa indefinitely ?

Yes you can work indefinitely. Most TNs work in permanent positions. Some management consultants, on the other hand, have trouble renewing year after year.

Thanks Mr.Rizzo,
I have worked on a TN visa for 8 out of the last 10 years.The immigration officer told me at my last renewal that "you may have trouble renewing the next time "!.
Based on his comment I'm TRYING to get a employer based greencard.(have not applied yet)

Will it be difficult to get another TN visa if I go ahead with the GC ?
