The overdraft doesn't matter, nor does the balance. What they are looking for is a regular income that matches your salary slips. You need to show that you are earning above the income support level (the income level at which most benefits become payable). To prove this you should have at least £105 per week left over after rent/mortgage, council tax and utilities and £56 per child.
