RE: Management Consultant:

How strict is immigration on University Degrees?

I have no authority, however I would think that a Professional Certificate in Management(2 yr program)from a credited University would be more practical than for example an undergraduate degree in say sociology, psych, etc.

Are these University Degree rules definite? or is the decision up to immigration's discretion? Is there a possibility of obtaining a TN visa (Management Consultant) with a Professional cert. in Management instead of a degree? Along with 2-3 years of experience.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

You need a Bachelor's degree (which includes a Canadian 3 year or 4 year BA/BS or U.S. BA/BS or Mexican Licenciatura degree) or foreign equivalent, or 5 years relevant work experience. A certificate in management is not a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Well, they do say:

Management Consultant Must have:
* baccalaureate or
* five years' experience in consulting or related field.

Because the management consultant does not entirely requite a BA, it becomes trickier to pass. When I went through the first time last year, the very first thing the officer asked me was to show my degree. You may have problems without one, but you can try. You can always try and you never know! It's all very subjective and depends 100% on the officer's mood. I recommend showing up early in the morning before they start bumping into too moody people as the day progresses.

Good luck!
