How to declare non-residency??

How to declare non-residency??

Postby robertv » Wed Jan 07, 2009 2:14 am

Hey there everyone,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about how to NOT get taxed in Canada, since I don't live there anymore.

I've been living and working in Norway since mid-August and obviously I don't want to have to be taxed for anything back in Canada. I heard I may have to declare myself a non-resident...
So then if this is the case, does anyone know what I'd have to do and who I'd have to contact?

I really don't want this hanging over my head for long!

Thanks in advance :-)

What I did is i just marked on last years Tax form that I'm a non resident. I didn't work in Canada at all that year so no income to file and That I think should do it. Just fill in the non resident address section. If worse comes to worse just call the canadian tax revenue agency.
