how to tell the employer

Post Tue Sep 07, 2010 7:30 pm

Hi there;

I just got a job offer from an US employer for a full time job as a Software Developer and the company is hesitating to give me the right petition letter for my TN status application. they agreed to put the title as "Software Developer/Engineer" so it is good since I can qualify as a Software Engineer (I do hold a evaluated Software Engineering degree). my other dilemma is that they did not put the end data for the job since it is a full time job.

I am so puzzled here and do not know how to tell them that they have to say this is a temporary job for like 3 years or so.

I really appreciate your feedback on this. please let me know if you have any advice or experience in this regard.

Just ask the employer to specify a start date and end date lasting for a 3-year duration. You could also do this if the petitioning letter file is in MS Word and you could just make an edit before printing. This is the way an application is typically presented now although you will see some ports such as Niagara Falls only grant in one-year increments.
