I am French, and I've been working in NYC for 7 months now under a J1 visa (18 months total). My Fiancé is Canadian, she's about to get a bachelor's in Art history (she has another bachelor's in Law).
We love one another, and we would like to live in the US for sometime (maybe 2 or 3 years). By then, we are planning on moving out to France.
My girlfriend has been looking for a job/internship in the Arts in the USA for a couple months but has received no answer so far which is astonishing because she's has skills. She actually writes her canadian address on cover letters and resumés (I don't know if it's a good idea).
If she doesn't find anything by the end of the year we might have to get married but that's not our original plan.
All this to say if anyone in Canuck Abroad knows of "best practices" to finding a job in US, please let us know. We really want to be together. the only pb is getting a job I believe.
