Has anybody taken the IETLS english exam in order to apply for the state sponsored visa 176? Is it absolutely necessary to pass it even if we are from Canada and have done our studies in english?

The answer depends on if you need the points to meet the pass mark?

You automatically get a 15 points for holding a Canadian passport. If you need extra points then you can do the IELTS to get 10 more points. So if you've got enough with the 15 points then you don't need to do it. If you need the full 25 points allowable for language then you'd need to do the IELTS.

More specifical in terms of the IELTS:
