If on TN visa, can I go back to homecountry for a visit?

If we travel or live abroad, we usually come back to visit right? Here's a the place to meet other "re-pats" and Canadians who have returned.

If on TN visa, can I go back to homecountry for a visit?

Hello,

I am new to this forum, anyone who is/was in the same boat or else who knows something about this can answer to my question please.....

I'll be getting TN visa soon, hence once TN visa issued can I go back to home country(India) for a visit? I heard if I do so, I may have to take TN visa again while entering the border, because my previous TN visa would no longer work......

I would really appreciate if someone can help me.

Thank you

Absolutely. TN-1 was designed for cross-border workers so it's expected you would leave. If your TN-1 status is still valid, you just take your I-94 with you and use it with your Canadian passport to re-enter. On the I-94 it says to surrender it, don't do that, it should have stamped or written on it: "TN-1 multiple entry".
