Hello all.
I have a question and was wondering if anyone can tell me the fastest way to do this.
Here's the scenario:
The woman is a Canadian citizen, not born in Canada but she became a citizen after having been a permanent resident for a while.
The man is an American citizen, has absolutely no criminal history and no diseases (contagious or otherwise).
If the woman and the man married and the woman sponsored the man, what is the fastest way for the two of them to reunite and live in Canada and for him to get permanent residency?
The man thought he would go to Canada and marry the woman there, then he would stay there on some kind of visa (he is not under the skilled laborers group)-legally, and then while both are in Canada he would have the wife start the process of sponsoring him for permanent residency.
Or, is it better (and faster) that they get married in Canada, he goes back to the States and she then files for sponsoring him as permanent resident. Please consider the hardship that would cause on the relationship as they would be separated after having just married.
I read someone saying on here that CIC processes immigration claims faster when done outside of Canada but couldn't the man just keep re-newing his visitor visa, etc until the spousal sponsorship process is completed and he is a permanent resident?
