Hello,

I am American and my husband Canadian. I am currently pregnant and will have the baby in the U.S. However, we are planning to move back to Canada after the baby is born. Do I have to wait to file for the baby after the baby is born? If I have to file for the bay alone, do I still just file on the family class? Or is there something I can file for the baby while I am filing for myself? Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

Thank you!

There's a list of dependents you have to provide to CIC, if you give birth while the application is pending, you have to file for an amendment. Give the CIC a call and they will explain the process, it's not a big deal.
