Hello all,
I've recently being doing research to see how I can get my pregnant girlfriend a visa to come live in Canada with me. We're a bit confused with all the research we've done so I thought I'd reach out to the collective intelligence and see if someone can help.
Here's the story.
We met about a year ago and saw each other every weekend, our cities were about 2 hours away. I was teaching she was learning Korea language. Then 8 month into my 12 month contract I changed schools and cities. We were closer and she pretty much moved in. Now she's living with me 7 days a week. She's still working 6 days a week cleaning Korean houses while 2 months pregnant.
From what we've discovered the only realistic way to sponsor her is if my dad sponsors her,
I dont have the finances to show I can take care of her for 3 years back home (although I did save 15000$ which was my goal coming here
Or if he gives me my inheritance then I sponsor her for permanent residency. If it fails at least our baby is born on Canadian soil and she can go live with her family in Mongolia while I figure something out.
She is concerned that she wont be able to get the visitor visa to come over, because of these two requirements of the temporary visa
satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home and family, that will take you back to your country of origin;
satisfy an immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit; and
She wont be coming back to Korea, so she has no job, ties, or education to come back, and she does not have anything in Mongolia except family. Is she right worrying about this? I figure once the immigration officer sees she's pregnant she can just tell them she's going to see her boyfriend in Canada and have the baby there..
what's wrong with honesty??
