Importing a Canuck car into Aus

Hi all, I fear I know the answer to this already, but here goes:

- I have a newer car that I have owned a couple of years ago. it is a 2006 Infiniti M35.
- I have recently moved to Brisbane and would like to import the car while I am here. It is a long story why i would do this vs selling the car back home in Canada, but for the sake of argument, let's assume that this is the way I prefer to go.
- Has anyone applied for a Carnet to bring their vehicle over here? What steps were involved, and how much was shipping - say from Vancouver? Any caveats that I should be aware of?
