Importing my vehicle to the US without crossing the border

Hi all,

I am on a 3 year TN that was just extended from a 1 year TN, so I need to get my car registered here. I don't want to drive all the way back to Canada just to import my car, but I'll be darned if I can find a place on the CBP website to locate a "local CBP office" near Philadelphia to go and get this done.

Can anyone advise on the process of using a local office versus going to the border to import a car, and how exactly I locate a local office?

There should be one near the airport usually. Try phoning a local freight forwarder and asking them which customs office they use.

By freight forwarder.. can you give me an example of what that'd be called? Do you mean like fedex or something? or something else?

I mean a freight forwarder, look in the phone book under "freight forwarding", sometimes CBP is actually listed there either that or look under "Federal Govt."
