hello everyone,

my name is Jacqueline, I'm from Toronto and I am going to be in London for the next 7 months and hopefully doing some traveling in between. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas on how to meet people, and finding work.

thanks

Hi folks: I went to high school in Geneva, while my father was posted in Europe. After I finished university in Canada, I joined the foreign service and had postings in Abidjan (2 years), Brussels (4 years), Dhaka (2 years) and Geneva (4 years) interspersed with various assignments at HQ in Ottawa. I'm now retired but intend getting on the road again in some way or the other, whether to live abroad temporarily or just travel extensively is yet to be decided. Cheers, John

it is so good to know about many people within a very short time. I am also not from Canada like most people. Infact I think I live furthest from Canada. I come from East Africa a country known as Tanzania. I work in the tourism industry and I organize tours in Tanzania and the rest of East Africa countries. If you have any question while comming to Africa dont hesitate to contact me I will be glad to help in anyway possible. contact me at babylonstephens@yahoo.co.uk

hello all. I have been reading through so many posts and everyone seems extremely helpful and decent. I decided last week to prepare to get a working holiday maker visa to the UK for a year and glad this site is so resourceful. I do need some help but wish I could have contributed to others' questions. I will do what I can to help others while researching for my own questions. Good look to all and hope to make this a great experience!

Hi! I'm originally from New Brunswick, but lived in Calgary, Alberta for a number of years before moving to Sydney, Australia. Sydney's been great, but I'm looking to move to the UAE before too long for "greener pastures".

Hello everyone. I am a U.S. citizen from Houston, Texas and married to a wonderful man from Edmonton, Alberta. We met online about 8 years ago, met in person and decided to get married in 2005. My husband moved to the U.S. in 2006 and is on his way to becoming a U.S. citizen. We love it here, but since we now have 13 month old twins and two adoring grand parents who live in Edmonton, we would like to move to Vancouver to be closer for my husband's family. (Vancouver was chosen due to the weather patterns more than any other reason.)

I joined here to hopefully get ideas on where to start looking for work, how to immigrate and what steps to start right now for a move to the Vancouver areas.

We can start looking for jobs for my husband shortly, he is currently in top honors in a CAD drafting school and should be graduating in the next 6 months. I am an administrative manager for an international staffing agency and have been working with them for the past two years handling all HR, visas and etc. I also have a 15 and 17 year old from my previous marriage.

----end novella------
