Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd post a reply on this thread Very Happy . I'm originally from Toronto, but we moved around alot when I was a kid so I was raised between Toronto, Boston, London, Kenya and the UAE. I currently live in the UAE but am planning on moving back to Canada after being away for just over 6 years!

So you can imagine my anxiety eh. My sister moved back two years ago and she has some stories to tell on the amount of changes over there now.

The UAE is not a bad place to live, not bad at all Wink . I have met alot of Canadians here but the majority of Western expats here are British and I can't stand most of them Laughing .

I've only just discovered this site and I love it. I've been reading on alot of the old posts especially on the ones of people who have moved back to Canada after a hiatus and I'm kicking myself for not finding it sooner!

Well I think I've rambled enough. Thanks for this very helpful forum admin et al!

Cheers,

Deana

Hey everyone!
I'm a 15 year old girl living in a tiny village near Karlsruhe, Germany. I just moved here in February because of my dad's work, and I've been working like crazy to learn the language! I miss Canadians and Canada so much already, though I'm enjoying travelling around Europe alot. I can't wait to go home in 3 years, but luckily I'm visiting Canada this summer, too. I just found this site today, and I wish I had found it earlier because its helping my homesickness ! Smile

Hey all,

As I type, on TV the NHL playoffs ring true from the next room ... ahhh, good 'ol native land.
Anyway, I just moved to Bermuda in Nov. '05 & am liking it so far.
It's pretty expensive but you can make some cash.
Here's a site on CDN's in BDA (www.canadians.bm).

If anyone has any questions/comments about my newly adopted country, fire away.

Ciao,
Wendell

Hi All,
My husband and I moved to the Cayman Islands last September. It was a rough start but I really enjoy it here. I miss the conveniences of home but can't say I miss the winters. We went home recently for a ten day visit and had to hit our favourite places (Timmies, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Tony Romas and the Keg). There are many Canadians here which is nice.
I am glad I found this site, looking forward to getting to know some of you.
Cheers!

I'm Pete and orginally from Toronto but now living in Dublin for almost six years with my wife, Janice and our three children.

I'm almost 43 and sometimes I feel it.

I am a music teacher and piano tuner and basically self-employed which has good and bad points.

We've debated about moving back to Canada just because the housing prices are totally off the wall here and even if I had a few million (which would be nice) I'd never buy a house here because they're poorly made, not worth the value and all you do is fill the pocket of a greedy land developer. Oops! Okay that's all I'll say.

Oh, I'd love to chat with any fellow canuckers and also anyone who would be from Toronto. Who knows, maybe I know someone on this board from my past, which isn't too seedy.

Bye for now.
