Hi All,
My husband and I moved to the Cayman Islands last September. It was a rough start but I really enjoy it here. I miss the conveniences of home but can't say I miss the winters. We went home recently for a ten day visit and had to hit our favourite places (Timmies, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Tony Romas and the Keg). There are many Canadians here which is nice.
I am glad I found this site, looking forward to getting to know some of you.
Cheers!

Guess I'm next in line

Post Sat May 27, 2006 6:16 pm

I'm Pete and orginally from Toronto but now living in Dublin for almost six years with my wife, Janice and our three children.

I'm almost 43 and sometimes I feel it.

I am a music teacher and piano tuner and basically self-employed which has good and bad points.

We've debated about moving back to Canada just because the housing prices are totally off the wall here and even if I had a few million (which would be nice) I'd never buy a house here because they're poorly made, not worth the value and all you do is fill the pocket of a greedy land developer. Oops! Okay that's all I'll say.

Oh, I'd love to chat with any fellow canuckers and also anyone who would be from Toronto. Who knows, maybe I know someone on this board from my past, which isn't too seedy.

Bye for now.

Welcome Pete,
I am from the T.O. area as well, although I have lived all across Canada.
Toronto's getting bad lately . . . gangs, murders, guns, etc. too state-sy you're not missing much.
Anyway welcome to the board.

Hi,

My husband and I are both from just outside Toronto (Burlington and Oakville) and we recently moved (with our dog and cat) to Christchurch NZ after 12 years in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

NZ is a great place.very beautiful, lots of nature and scenery and fabulous beer and wine!

We are definitely enjoying our time here but I miss Canada a lot. Quite simply, its home to me and all of my family is there. We will be in NZ for anywhere from 2-5 years.

Hiya! :smt039

I'm Lori. I was born and raised in Chatham, Ontario, then went to school and lived in Michigan for 9 years (what was I thinking!?!), and then lived in TO for 5 years before moving to a SE borough of London in November 2004.

I had never been outside of North America before moving here and didn't know a soul. It has been quite an adventure.

I miss Canada (I think mostly the *comfortableness* of knowing what people are saying and how things work and of course our great Canadian food!). I am having a great time here though- and I love that the "whole" world is just an hour or two by plane away. I love the whole travel culture and the much more laid back lifestyle (although not being able to find a store open after hours and dealing with banks here have nearly driven me over the edge!).

Nice to see y'all here!

Hi everybody,

I'm Scott, (aka Scootter), originally from Winterpeg, but moved to Germany in 99, then Netherlands, and finally East Anglia in 2000.

I have been here 5 years now, re-married to a lovely English girl, and have no immediate plans to go back home, for as much as Canada is home to me, I know the UK is home to my missus.

I think I have covered nearly all the visas in my stay, as first I was on an Ancestry visa as a spouse, then a work permit after the divorce, and now a marriage visa. whew!

I am looking forward to October when my 2 years on my current visa are close to up and I can apply for indefinate leave and then a passport next year, then no more forms at immigration for me. :)

Anywho, that's me in a nutshell, and if you want to know more check out our website http://www.scootter.net

Hey guys!

I've just discovered this site. not sure what's taken me so long.

I'm from the Niagara Region but have lived in London, England for the past few years. I've spent time working and living in Scotland, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia so if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to help out if I can.

I miss Canada sometimes but don't have any plans to return anytime soon so this site is a great way to connect with other Canucks and talk about sports that matter like hockey and baseball instead of rugby and cricket!

Happy travels, talk to you later!

Hello Canadians,
I am originally from Toronto (Mississauga).
:)
I'm currently living in Rome, Italy! I came here almost 3 years ago to teach English and decided to make Rome my home! I met my boyfriend here and now we are the proud owners of two Bed and Breakfasts in Rome! I really enjoy Rome and love my life here! I go to Toronto as often as I possibly can and honestly I miss Canada, however I don't miss the cold! If there are other Canadians in Rome, please e-mail me and maybe we can all get together! Hello!
My name is Toni have been living in Whistler for about 4 months, though I grew up in Vancouver. I am a Graphic Tech/Art Designer by trade,(although currently admin. for a construction co.needed a stress break! :)) and spend the rest of my time in the mountains/hanging off rock.

My boyfriend and I are hoping to move to New Zealand in Dec, neither of us have left the country before, and because we are from "Lotus Land" 30 & 34 years old, most people look at us sideways when we talk about leaving. The rain is starting to cause mold behind our knees though.

Looking for brave travelers who would like to share their stories, inspire us and take some of the fear out of the experience!
Look forward to chatting!
it's soggy here.
