Hola amigos!

I was Born in Canada. I travelled to France, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Denmark, Germany, French Polynesia, Monaco and the USA. I now live in beautiful Mexico with my boyfriend. We rent a 150 year old house in Querétaro, a charming colonial city, north of Mexico DF. We love it here!

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences. I've just started a blog where I share my (and my friends') good and bad travelling experiences.

Hiyah!
I'm from Kirkland Lake, Ontario and was searching around the web on some sites that would tell me a bit about medical benefits after entering Canada after being gone for over a year.

My boyfriend and I are leaving mid-October from San Francisco on a 30ft sailboat down the Baja, through Mexico and Central AMerica with our final destination (for hurricane season) being Ecuador.

I was working in Mexico last year and we spent 6 months sailing the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez), and we're planning on a longer sail this time. New Zealand is in the making!

If anyone has any onformation/websites/ etc for me about what I may want to look into before I leave the country for over a year, can you pass them along?
Fantastic website!

Cheers!

you will have to notify OHIP that you are leaving temporarily so that they will continue your benefits. Just google OHIP all the info and forms are on their site.

As reba sez, OHIP does have a provision for you BUT you MUST avail yourself of it BEFORE you leave canada.

Toronto England Toronto England?

I'm living in Toronto and contemplating a possible extended stay in Sussex, England next year. I spent my teens there and am itchy to go back for a while if I can organize it.

In the meantime, I'm wondering about getting a dual citizenship passport. My parent were both English (Dad's gone but my Mom is 90 this year and still kicking) so I'm told it's possible. I need to get a passport as quickly as possible so wonder whether I should just go and get my Canadian one for now and redo it after Christmas? Will that complicate things?

Wondering if there's someone in Toronto who knows about getting a passport really quickly. If I have to wait two weeks I will miss the opportunity to do some travelling in the States next week. Any advice?
